Itsu [grocery] is looking for a motivated and ambitious Food Technologist to join our Technical team. The selected applicant will work closely with suppliers to assist drive the company's high standard and maintain compliance with our quality management system, reporting directly to the Quality Manager.

Scope of the role :

overarching:

*Responsible for itsu [grocery] product quality, safety, legality, and authenticity, as well as supplier performance.

Assist the technical team in maintaining BRC accreditation at the AA level.

*Assist with the closure of audit reports and work with the Head of Technical to approve and onboard new suppliers.

*Determine the frequency of testing by conducting a risk assessment on the product range. Supporting the Technical Executive with routine surveillance testing (covering nutritionals, claim validation, micro, chemical, and authenticity testing), shelf-life evaluation, and organoleptic testing to ensure product quality, safety, and authenticity. *Interpret results, take action, and rectify any non-conformance with the supplier as a result of ongoing monitoring. Analyze and understand customer complaint trends, and, if necessary, conduct investigations with suppliers to determine the root reason and implement appropriate corrective steps.

Product Development :

*Completing and maintaining product standards across the itsu [grocery] portfolio, ensuring that all signed-off items are safe, legal, and that all product quality attributes are captured.

*Legal labelling for new and existing items is reviewed and approved.
